This research is critically analyzing the role of social classification in the description of these individuals from the text provided by Australian print media. The aim is to examine the structure that constitutes the marginalization of asylum seekers. Traditional social taxonomy law has been claimed to have several drawbacks, especially when considering discourses that may have been left behind. The Discourse Psychological Approach is used to analyze specific categories and to determine the social behavior they constitute. Excerpted samples are from media articles, and the specific categories examined include "illegal immigrants", "boat people" and related category labels. Certain types of classification have been claimed to be able to support and encourage specific behaviors, especially specific marginalized behaviors.
