“A Sound of Thunder” and “Nethergrave” Essay

Ray Bradbury's "Thunder" and Gloria Skurzynski's "Nethergrave" is a well - written SF story. Both stories use techniques to change the hero's life dramatically. The thunder 's voice included a dinosaur and a time machine, and the character returned within time. The time machine was made to start talking in the jungle of the past 60 million years ago. In "Nether Grove," hero Jeremy chose not to stay in the real world after considerable embarrassment and loneliness, but to immerse himself in the virtual world. It seems that the setting of this story is now, but it is not certain. The climax on "Nethergrave" was when Jeremy's all online friends quitted him, and when he received a message instructing someone to turn on the microphone. I do not know what will happen, the man wants Jeremy. He left the neglected real world and decided to be bullied to a place promised that he would never be abandoned.

The climax of "The Sound of Thunder" was when people returned to their current time machine. I think this is the most doubtful time. Because Echkels knows that he has done the way he was forbidden to leave and is waiting for whether this little action will really affect the future. The climax of the two stories wondered what would happen next to me. One of the themes of "The Voice of Thunder" is that small bad behavior can cause huge damage. I mean that one of the theme of "Nether Grove" is that it is easy to make bad decisions that seems to make it better if the reality is severe. Both of these themes are closely related, so it is an ideal memory. If you think about it, the theme of "Nether Grove" is that it makes life easier to make bad decisions if it becomes difficult. Either short story tells you how technology can be very dangerous. Every day, technology is progressing. Even though these are SF novels, I think that the dangers of technology in these stories may actually occur in the future. I want both of these stories to continue to read, but in my opinion "sound of thunder" is more effective than "nether grave". It has better features, more relevant topics, more explanations, and helps the reader to become familiar with the settings when explaining the charter. "Nether Grove" and "Sound of Thunder" are funny SF stories. In my opinion, "Thunder Sound" by Ray Bradbury is more exciting than "Nethergrave" by Gloria Skurzynski.
