Between 1940's and 1950's, advances in technology related to progress in earth science and understanding of the earth have developed new ways in which geologists observe the world and how it works. In this exhibition I will explain the history of our new understanding of the Earth and outline the theory behind it.

There are many excellent places to deal with the theory of modern plate tectonics. This is a small sample.

Finally, it seems that Alfred Wegener Laboratories of the German Polar Ocean Research Center, which inherited Wagner's interdisciplinary earth science tradition, should be mentioned.

The plate structure completely changed geologist 's view of the earth. This new paradigm covers almost all areas of geological survey. Like evolution theory in biology, plate tectonics is a unified concept of geology. The initial attraction and prompt acceptance of the plate structure is because it can provide many answers to many annoying questions for many seemingly unrelated phenomena. Plate tectonics explains many ancient ideas by providing new perspectives and revitalizes the field of geology. Finally, plate tectonics explains the main surface features and activities of almost all the planets. These include faults, earthquakes, volcanoes and volcanic activities, mountain and mountain buildings, as well as continents and basins.

Plate tectonics is an important geological construction activity. In a word, it helps to form a mountain. Volcanic activity and earthquakes are also caused by plate tectonics. In general, the slab shape contributes to the material circulation between the crust and the crustal mantle. The plate structure also functions as a global thermostat, keeping the temperature within sustainable life. Without a tectonic plate (that is, the outer surface of the earth becomes a single continuous layer), there is no material recycling. The mountains are eroded and the landscape looks different. The absence of mountains will make the weather more uniform all over the world. Even the weather may lead to a decrease in biodiversity. The existence and constant movement of these tectonic plates is also considered to be the cause of life on our planet.
