The way the economists' views on the world and economic thinking may be a bit abstract, and you may think that it is different from the way you are used to thinking about society. Therefore, very important
• Understanding the course is not a memory course. Trying to be a tutor before the exam is very bad. Even if you remember everything you said in class, you will not notice in that course! Why is this? Any "facts" you may remember will be obsolete in a matter of months or years, so it is not appropriate to waste your precious time. Instead, the course will teach you the various important tools you can apply to future economic scenarios you are interested in. We hope that you can understand and apply these tools - you can not accomplish this only through practice, not through pure memories.
Classes are held once in an hour in class. If classes are held almost three hours per week, please plan to work on average 12 hours a week. (3 hours in class, 9 hours in class)
Courses are often closely related to one another and generally rely on materials covered at the beginning of the semester. If you missed the course and did not compensate for the missed work, it fails. This material is usually too complicated to absorb before or during the test! Resolve your homework! They are not trying to torture you, they are trying to help you practice new economic skills and prepare for the medium term and overall finals.
That depends on your notes! If classes are not ready, there is a possibility of getting lost. If you spend some time reading the materials before discussion, you can better identify difficulties and ask for clarification. On the other hand, if you first saw the teaching materials in the class, it will take too long because there is not enough time to summarize the new things and consider it.
• If you do not understand something, you can ask questions in class! If you have any questions, it is highly possible that some of your classmates have the same problem, but do not dare ask. There is no stupid question. Do not be afraid to say it loudly in class. Your question is the feedback you need to judge if the teacher is too fast or too late. If no one is asking questions, we must assume that everyone understands the material and will continue discussing the next topic.
Every semester we encounter a lost student and we do not do anything against it. Please do not wait for assistance until intermediate exams and final exams, please come early
Final exams will require proof of the reading and topics being read during the semester (including class discussions) and to integrate the ideas of the whole course. Continuing reading (and recording) throughout the semester is very useful for your exams. Final exams are based on short answers and papers. Students who want to focus on learning or pursue research or other careers that require strong and important written samples can write research papers instead of final exams. This work should not be neglected, and we should talk with the teacher in the first month of the course. Students wishing to select this option will have a revised "case" paper that contains a more detailed list of theoretical and methodological themes of their research projects.
